What’s in a name? A look at the biggest social media buzzwords from the past year
In an age of social media branding, some brands and agencies have gone overboard.
Some of them are just plain silly, like “Weird Al” Yankovic’s “Dancing With the Stars” tagline or the term “social media marketing.”
Others are more serious, like Facebook, which launched its new “Facebook Live” video game this month.
And yet others, like Snapchat, are becoming the latest trend in marketing.
But for the uninitiated, the term social media marketing is basically an acronym for “social advertising.”
In the industry, it is a marketing tactic that focuses on increasing brand awareness and exposure with short, quick and often simple messages.
But with the advent of social video and other social media, it has become a buzzword with an almost universal definition.
So, what is a social media campaign?
The term “campaign” is usually used to describe a campaign in which someone is involved in creating or running a social campaign.
A campaign typically starts when the influencer or brand has a clear idea about what the campaign will look like and what they want to achieve.
For example, if you want to get your kids excited about going to Disney World, you might create a “Disney Family” campaign that is about going with your family to Disney’s theme parks.
Similarly, a “Lovin’ the Boobs” campaign could be about “liking” a YouTube video or “likes” someone’s photos of her.
The important thing is that the influencers and brand are aware of what the brand is trying to accomplish and are in charge of choosing the content that works.
This is a great time to make sure that your influencer/brand has a solid social media strategy.
There are many different types of campaigns, from “sketch up” to “plan a strategy” and many of them can be tailored to fit your business.
However, in the end, the biggest influencer’s role is to create a social engagement with their audience.
They need to make the social messages clear and personal.
So in order to really get people talking about your brand, you need to put them in the driver’s seat.
