German foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier stressed the important role of Russia in resolving conflicts in the world.
“The reality is that without Russia we would not be able to move neither in the negotiations on a political settlement in Syria, nor in the implementation of the Minsk agreements on Ukraine. And without Russia there would be no agreement with Iran on its nuclear program. If we need solutions, we need Russia”, – said Steinmeier in an interview with the Bonner Generalanzeiger, reports RIA “Novosti”.
Steinmeier reiterated that the talk of a new cold war there.
“While during the cold war between East and West had almost no contact, we are having a large number of forums in which we communicate with each other,” added the Minister.
Recall that all 15 member countries of the UN security Council endorsed the Russia and the United States a resolution in support of a ceasefire in Syria, which started on 27 February at 00: 00 Damascus time (01.00 GMT).
The truce does not apply to banned in Russia and several other countries, the terrorist organization “Islamic state” and “dzhebhat EN-Nusra” (Syrian subdivision of al-Qaeda) and other formation, recognized by the UN Security Council terrorist.
