The military’s first assessment is scheduled to be released on Tuesday.
The report would examine whether Russia has acted with intent to influence the outcome of the Ukrainian elections.
The US military says the US has conducted about 80 airstrikes against military and civilian targets in Ukraine since last month.
The Pentagon said the strikes were intended to degrade the capabilities of the Russian-backed separatist rebels in eastern and southern Ukraine.
The United States has repeatedly blamed Russia for the war in Ukraine, and in February, US President Donald Trump warned Russia would pay a price for its involvement in Syria and Ukraine.
